Tampa Bay Times newspaper has had articles about Allegiant and their safety issues about 3 times, and it's always on the front page, so you know there are problems. You are 4x more likely to have something go wrong with this airline than others.

They do not have enough personnel to handle their load for openers. The clerk checking us in (I have a disabled husband so we had priority boarding) was very slow & we waited a long time. The man in front of me was checking in rifles so when he approached the desk, she left with him to get further checking (I suppose). She did not return to the desk to check us in for about 15 min.

When she did return she told us the plane was now loaded, meaning suitcases, so we could not get on because our luggage would not meet up with us,. This happened to everyone else behind us!!! A larger, more honest airline would not let this sloppiness happen. What goes on in the front section is also what's happening in the back, so beware of mechanical probs too.

I have decided never to fly Allegiant again. BTW, I asked the flight attndt if the plane was new, because the interior looked brand new.

He said the plane is old but they just put in a new interior!!! BEWARE!!!!

Reason of review: Bad quality.

Just because a thing is old doesn't mean it's not safe. Delta, one of the legacy majors, flys a lot of old aircraft, because it's economical to lease them from other airlines (specifically research Delta leasing Boeing 717s from Airtran/Southwest).

I do, however, question this airline's commitment to maintenance and alt-min fuel practices.

They're similar in operation, ownership and management to Ryan Air out of Ireland. Ryan Air is notorious for flying alt-min fuel.

Fly a different airline.

Beware of a new interior? Terrifying!

Did you arrive at least 2 hours early as recommended? If you had you should have made it through check in by the cut off time. Also was your flight near the holidays or on a busy fly day?If so you should have given yourself extra time.

What is dishonest? Nothing in your complaint indicates any dishonesty.

You simply did not get on. What you are complaining about is simply the nature of low cost airlines. You don't go to the used car dealer and complain that the cars are not brand new Cadillacs.

Your warnings are misplaced.

Airplanes fly for decades. They are not like cars.

Did you think that a plane's interior was never replaced? I take the fact they are replacing the interior as evidence they are trying to keep their planes updated and in good condition.
