I will never fly Allegiant again! We drove from West Palm Beach to the Ft.

Lauderdale airport and on the way we went through really bad weather and several accidents. Needless to say we were running late. When we arrived to check in there were 3 attendants who greeted us very shortly and completely unfriendly; borderline rude. They informed us that they had closed bag check in 40 min ago and there was absolutely nothing they could do to help us.

The plane was scheduled for departure 45 min from the time we tried to checking.

They told us we had to bring the bags with us on the plane if we made it to the door on time (with a scoffing attitude).

Obviously our bag had liquids that could not be brought up in the plane with us and it took longer to go through security and the guy and woman checking the bags were stopping to talk on the phone which obviously delayed the process even more. As we waited for them to finish our friend headed to the gate to talk to the manager and ensure they waited for us.

She got to the gate and told him about it and the manager said that they close the doors 10 mins prior to departure not one minute later. He told her that if we were not there in 4 minutes we were not getting in the plane. They knew we were 5 minutes from the gate and still 5 minutes on time before departure and they did nothing to help us get in that plane. Instead they scoffed and looked at each other with a smirk on their face.

The manager and the other two service desk attendants seemed to be satisfied by the fact that they closed the doors in our faces and enjoyed the situation. I have never in my life been more disgusted by the service of all Allegiant employees. Not a single employee was nice or pleasant to speak to. The manager left immediately after he closed the door to do the flight paper work and when I asked the service desk lady to talk to him she continued to talk to me in a very sarcastic way and continued to look at the other service desk lady almost making fun of us she told me he could talk to me after the plane leaves and of course by then it will be a useless conversation.

Not once did she offer us a new flight or look into some type of solution for us. We asked for a refund since we were there prior to the flight departure and they closed the door on our faces and they laughed at us. I have nothing good to say about this airline and will never recommend anyone or use it again in my life.

I will be sure to share this experience with everyone I know. Flight # 1722 on 23-Sep-2016.

It is incredible that there would be rain and bad weather in Florida this time of year. How would have thought that?

It is 50 miles between West Palm Beach and Ft. Lauderdale through an area of continuously population. Perhaps 1 1/2 hours would be fine in good weather, but at least 2 hours or more is required when thundershowers [and the normal resulting accidents] at expected.

That of course is in addition to arriving 2 hours early to the airport as recommended.

So if you did not leave almost 4 hours before your flight was scheduled to leave, you have no complaint: you were late. Blame yourself for your problems.

So, you turned up late, perhaps for a valid reason and you wanted them to hold an entire plane for you.

In this airline the person checking you in at counter could double or triple as the one who checks you in at the gate and/or the one that loads the plane.

Allowing you and your herd on the plane would require new weight and balance calculations which would delay that flight.

They're not going to do that even if they wanted to. The decision to tell you know(which I'm sure you didn't like hearing) was probably someone other than anyone you talked to.
