How long is an acceptable delay?

My parent (both whom are suffering with alzheimer's) were booked on a flight from Lexington Kentucky to Ft. Lauderdale Florida. They were to leave Lexington on February 28 at 3:35PM, they delayed this flight and it would now be leaving at 6:30PM, there was no update to the website (a common occurance I understand)and we waited in the airport for 3 hours. They finally left and arrived safely. On the return flight from Fl. Lauderdale they were to leave at 12:35Pm and they actually left at 9:05PM, now really..... a 9 hour delay??? Is this how we run an airline??? They arrived, in Lexington at 11:00PM, that is a far cry from the 2:30 they were supposed to be home and quite the strain on 2 elderly parents in poor health. Allegiant would not offer any compensation, just an appology. You try to call customer service (I would hate to have that job) and there is no getting through. This airline needs to be investigated for customer service, poor management and inability to do fullfill their promised service. MY ADVICE, spend a few more dollars and fly someone with a better record and send Allegiant a message or they go out of business.

Why do they owe you compensation? Your grandparents got to their destinations. If they are in such poor health, perhaps they shouldn't be flying.

Horrible airline

I have never heard of an airline refusing to change or cancel and/or give credit within 24 hours of a flight. Usually, if the flight has not left yet, you can get a credit. Nope, not on this one. They don't even ask for a reason (the heck with emergencies!) they just say, (IF you can get through on the phone, which is near impossible) it says on the web site that if the person doesn't show up for the flight, you lose the total amount. You have to cancel before the 24 hours. Great service, jerks! And I thought what my friend went through with them last week was bad. The flight took off without enough gas, and landed about 1/2 hour away. She was almost 4 hours late getting here. She said it was *** It's getting worse! Don't book this airline, unless you have to!

Cancelled flight

I booked a flight for my mother leaving Wilmington nc to Sanford Fl. I made the reservations a month and a half ago. Yesterday she arrived in Wilmington ready to go and they told her that Allegiant Air was no long flying out of Wilmington anymore! The flight wasn't just cancelled, they packed up the entire airline and moved! They said they had a bout 15 to 20 people who have came in for thier flights to learn the same bad news. The neglected to email or call us with this information! They didn't even refund the money for the flight. I have lots more complaints about them!

Will not update flight info on website

We are havingout a record severe winter storm right now in Wichita, Ks. The Wichita airport shows all flights cancelled except Allegiant which does not appear. The Allegient website flight status shows the flighf is on time. Of coures Allegient will not accept calls añd a recording says to refer to their website. How hard is it to update the flight status? The national weather channel is highlighting Wichita as I type this. I'm due at the airport in two hours and driving is treacherous but Allegient says its a go. Its inexcusable to leave people hanging like this. Do we drive to the airport or mot?

Can't change my flight online, says I have to call. Have been calling for THREE DAYS, the line is either busy or I get a recording "we're experiencing a large number of calls, please try again later".

Really? If you're that busy, hire more people. I WILL NEVER FLY WITH THESE FOLKS AGAIN!

It's a real shame that Bellingham, WA is associated with them in any way.

BUYER BEWARE!

Do you want customer service? don't use allegiant air! do you want a computer site that works? don't go to allegiant! do you want to talk to a real person? don't go to allegiant! do you want to be hung up on--both on the chat and on the phone? use allegiant! do you want your flights screwed? then use allegiant air they're VERY good at that. Here's why: The day my mother died (2/9), I made a flight for the next day (2/10). The agenda said the flight left at 3:30 pm in Monterey CA. I was there at 1:00. I couldn't find a ticket counter and finally found a security guard at the airport who showed me that I needed the counter which showed another airline (I wish I could remember the name because the agent there was very rude.) I finally found out the plane LEFT 1:00 pm.! I called the customer service line and found out they don't answer the phone on Sundays and to use the chat line that is available after 11 am on Mondays Thus, in order to get to my mother's funeral, I had to use Southwest--very pleasant flight by the way. Once I got to my mother's house, I didn't know how long I'd be there, so I changed the itinerary to later in the month. After the family got together, I discovered I could leave much earlier so I made an appointment to go home Wednesday 2/20. on 2/18 I got on line to check in. The the change I put in a few days before, didn't take, and now I couldn't get back until Friday 2/22--which wouldn't work because, I'd have to rent a motel room and car, AND while I was gone, I received 2 letters indicating I needed to get home right away. I got on the e-mail chat and was told they could only answer general questions and they gave me the "customer service" number. Three times I called. The same recording came on and after it was through it just disconnected without any noticed. I went back to the e-mail chat line and asked for a supervisor, got the same person who said they were limited to what the could do. She gave me the same number. I told her what happened. She said to call during prime hours after 4 am PST. I told her I would contact the CEO, Better Business Bureau and make sure it gets online. She asked if there was anything else she could do. I asked if there was a different number I could call. She disconnected the chat.

Customer service uninformed in accurate & Unable to respond

I was unable to check into my allegiant Airlines flight 24 hours before departure; website was inoperable. I was unable to register for flight delays online. After walking out of a surgical procedure I arrived at the airport 50 minutes prior to scheduled departure. I am a sales rep. The flight was delayed two hours. After clearing security it was 2:45 minutes. Allegiant attendant told me to take it up online or via 800 #. The phone system dumps 1:40 seconds into the call. Chat live section of site will not communicate. Lost money, lost reputation no way to communicate.

Terible Customer Service

I had to change a flight because the dates were not going to work out, because of illness. I went to their website, because I was told they could not take anymore calls because of heavy call volume. When I filled out all the information on their website, it would not compute, always came up as an error, no matter how many times I tried. I finally was able to reach someone on the phone on a Sunday, and they told me it would be $50.00 more then what their website had quoted. The person was very rude, and would not listen to anything I said. The first time I tried calling, I asked my wife a question, and asked the representative to hold for a second, and she disconnected me. This is the worst company I have ever dealt with, and it really isn't a good deal, once you figure all the other little things into it, they charge you for. My suggestion...do yourself a favor, and stay away from this company! They all have attitudes, and it is obvious why...they probably never talk to a happy person. Keep this in mind too...you probably will never find the dates you can travel. It's is all about them, not you.

Lack of cancellation notice

Booked flight 957 from IAG to PGD on Friday 2/1/13 for 7:10PM flight, weeks in advance. Checked website before leaving home, an hour from the airport. Flight 'delayed' to 7:20PM. No big deal. Got to airport, found flight just cancelled. Many unhappy folks milling around 1 customer disservice rep. handing out $50 vouchers for hotel stay. Flight rescheduled for the next day. Turns out the incoming loop flight from Punta Gorda had been cancelled at about 3PM...website not updated immediately to let people know before leaving for IAG airport. Total lack of customer empathy. The flight finally left the next day, at least 1.5 hours late. Seems in my experience the both Allegiant and its deceased predecessor Direct Air have NO sense of ontime flights urgency or efficient operation of their facilities. On a scale of 1-10, with 10 highest, I'd rate them a 4. Sad, compared to, say, Southwest. Yet they still have their hands out to gouge their passengers with excessive fees. A soory excuse for an airline.

I do not like Allegiant Air they have poor service and the flight attendants are real jerks. On my return flight they would not let me use the bathroom and I almost wet my pants. They blocked access to the bathroom with their service carts, these attendants are total jerks and very unreasonable. This airline stuffs you in the plane like a bunch of cattle, the seats are very uncomfortable and don't recline. They have very poor customer service. I guess you get what you paid for. I tried to change my return flight date but their website said they couldn't find my itinerary. Think twice again about traveling with Allegiant Air.

The reason you were not allowed to use the Lavatory is because the Pilot (or) First Officer were using the facilities. The flight deck door and the Lavatory are blocked to protect from any unauthorized access into the flight deck.

All you had to do was turn around and use the lavatory in he back of the aircraft.

Denied medical exception

I purchased a ticket on Allegiant approx. two months ago. At that time my receipt clearly stated that medical exceptions were available with a doctors letter. I am currently ill and restricted from even working. I have now been informed that they no longer honor the medical exception as of two weeks ago, and in my mind that represents a breach of contract, as I paid in advance and the former policy was clearly stated in writing. The also have the worst customer service I have ever experienced, very rude and unprofessional. This is meant as both a complaint and warning to future flyers. Do not fly Allegiant if other options are available!

Stuck in Fresno due to cheap *** airline

Worst airline ever. I've never been particularly fond of this airline because they have so many fees for every little thing and only their base price is low. I'm ok with this because I've traveled from Vegas to Fayetteville, AR and Fresno, CA and there is really no other airline to choose from as far as I know. But I just showed up to the airport about an hour early, and I was unable to print out my boarding pass online. They do not take an electronic version at T.S.A so I went to the counter. There is a sign saying that there is nobody there 45 minutes before the flight leaves. Great. So I try to see if I can print the ticket and there is nobody that will let me print. I wait and wait until the flight leaves just to talk to 2 little girls that say they can't help me and give me the customer service # in Vegas. I call them up, and they say there is nothing they can do because it is their policy to not have people at the counter an hour before a flight (which is a ridiculous policy to start with) and that I agreed to this when I check in online. She said she is going to hang up on me and not go in circles with me when I asked to talk to a supervisor. She asked my name then she straight up hung up on me! What an animal. I wanted to get her name but she had already hung up. Now I'm stuck in Fresno with no way home and they won't do anything for me. I would have been to the gate with at least 35-40 minutes TO SPARE and yet I'm stuck in this mess. You would think that even with their low fares that they wouldn't want to make their customers this upset. The funny thing is, my friends here were going to fly out to Vegas on Feb. 3rd and thankfully they have not purchased their ticket yet. I will just rent a car and drive with them and yes Allegiant, you will lose a minimum of 4 new customers as a result of you being so cheap. Thats right 4 within the next two weeks and you will be boycotted permanently. Hire some more people and you won't run into this mess! I hate you and you're a filthy greedy corporation with no respect to your customers. I know they have cheap prices but avoid this company at ALL costs. And in most cases you would save money on other airlines anyway if you have to check bags. Now I'm stuck not being able to see my son as a result of this. Terrible.

The Worst Airline

I buy ticket online Jan 22 for thursday and it ends up saying Sunday Jan 27. I waited 3 Hrs waiting for workers to even let us know that we are gonna be able to check in soon. Supervisor sees my issue and says call customer service and that she cannot change an Itinerary for anyone since she is a contractor. The flight was full but once everyone was checked in 6 people did not come and seats were available. I fly weekly for Dell and they missed out on a opportunity to have my business weekly as it is a non stop flight to my destination of fort Lauderdale.I was forced to drive 3 hrs to Atlanta because of the poorest customer service a contractor can give since they have no access to modify an existing itinerary. Shame on Allegiant Air for not allowing contractors to fix a simple error made by the website.Its is called ShadyAir in my opinion.I even bought a ticket sunday previously and the flight was delayed 5 hrs and then cancelled....Allegiant Air you get what you pay for. Contractors raising their shoulders saying we have no power..Such a Shame. Allegiant Air can be so better just by providing customer service. A real Nightmare for me. Sad I have to fly with the second worst USAirways for 600 bucks more and 1 stop...The customer does not win at all and always pays dearly while the fatman on the C.E.O. Chair gets Paid.I was supposed to be in florida to get a place and I lost out on a beautiful apartment so I need to search now and wait for the next flight. I wish I recorded the nice staff wishing they could help but I was so shocked this happened while TSA THinks Im gonna go Postal. Plus I had to Rent from the best car rental customer service I seen Enterprise and wished Allegiant Air can learn from Enterprise at Knoxville Airport.

HORRIFIC customer service

We have been trying for three days straight to change our itinerary. I called and got ahold of someone once after a 25 minute wait who told me to change it online. So, I logon to change it online, and the website refuses to let me change it. I call back, and 20+ dropped calls later, still no answer. Pathetic. I have tried calling them on 4 different phones (2 office phones, home, and mobie), and their automated customer service line won't even pickup. Your call is connected, then immediately dropped. I tried to get on their Live Chat, only to find out that the Live Chat service is 100% useless. They told me just to keep calling.
