My son and his family, including my 17 month old granddaughter was scheduled to fly yo Concorde, N.C. to visit my wife and I at our summer home. Their flight was the morning of 8/19. Unfortunately, my granddaughter became ill and their pediatrician advised them not to travel and to bring my granddaughter to the hospital the next morning (8/19).

My son immediately contacted Allegiant to advise them of the situation. He only asked for a credit, so he can hopefully book another flight in the future. Their cancellation was clearly unavoidable.

Allegiant REFUSED to give him any such consideration. This is unacceptable and below the standards of any company I would ever want to deal with.

My wife and I fly from Ft. Lauderdale to N.C. on Allegiant fairly often. I am hoping that you will correct this situation immediately. If not, you have lost us as a customer and I will spread the word about your lack of compassion and consideration for your customers.

Reason of review: Return, Exchange or Cancellation Policy.

Location: Cashiers, North Carolina

Allegiant does offer trip flex for a fee.kinda like insurance in case you needed to change your trip.If you read the terms and opted not to select trip flex then you/they were gambling.not the airlines fault.they have to follow the rules to be fair to everyone.

I am sure that the pediatrician did not advise the adults not to travel, only your granddaughter. The parents could still fly but THEY CHOSE NOT TO.

Even though that choice was for a good reason, that was still their choice.

When they bought cheap non-refundable tickets, they gambled that they would be able to go. If they could not, they lost. They knew the odds against them were higher because they had a 17 month old child who could get sick, yet they bought cheap non-refundable tickets, instead of higher price refundable tickets.

That was a risk they knowingly, voluntarily took. I assume they are not intellectually challenged. They lost. Why are you complaining.

If you were so concerned about something like this happening, you should have paid the difference for refundable tickets - problem solved.

"Allegiant REFUSED "

Of course they did and probably will continue to do so until your son shows something in the term of service HE AGREED to that said there were special circumstances for illness.

There are no special exceptions in these terms. It's as simple as that. If he's man enough to have kids he should be man enough to deal with this since he agreed to it and not have daddy post online for him.

Next time read what you are hitting that little box saying you agree to.
